One Shoulder Mini Dress Sewing Pattern reviews

Really like this dress. As a beginner i struggled a lot with the zipper and the fact that (because of my choice of fabric) the dress needed a full lining. The seller was really helpful when I told her about the full lining and gave me more instructions for this. Will make this dress again for sure in other fabrics.

It's a really simple pattern, but in my opinion the instructions are not clear enough, and the sizing chart is confusing. I ended up going by finished garment measurements and that was the correct choice (if I'd gone with the size chart the dress would've been to big). Also the written instructions are completely different from the video tutorial, both methods work but it confused me initially. A confident beginner would be able to make this dress, just being mindful of these inconsistencies. Other than that, I had fun making this, it's a really quick project. My dress turned out really pretty and I'm happy with it. I will say though if you have a curvier frame (bigger hips) the A-line effect of the skirt will not be very pronounced. I still love how it looked in the end.

I had some issues with the pattern when I made a test dress, as I'm a beginner. The written pattern felt a little complicated with the pleats and layers, and didn't realize there was a youtube video that showed the whole process. After watching the video it felt a lot more clear, so looking forward to giving it another go!

My pattern was ready to download immediately. Easy to interpret and follow instructions (I'd still rate myself beginner) I loved my dress that I made (and altered by adding another strap to the other side and making some capped sleeves) for my sister's hens.

Love this pattern! I'm a beginner but the pattern is simple. I can understand most of the instructions but the gathering part on the shoulder is a bit tricky for me. I wish it came with size0 or size00 since size 2 was way too big. Would help if yardage was included so I know how much fabric I need.

Very nice pattern! This was my first time sewing a dress and the instructions were very clear and easy to follow. I'm 1,74m tall so the dress turned out to be a little bit short for my length, next time I'll add a few cm to the bottom hem. For the fabric of the dress I used linen, but I need an underdress underneath because it's quite see-through with just one layer of fabric, so I'll sew a lining for the whole of the dress next time and not just the top. Either way I'm very pleased and happy with how the dress turned out to be! :)

I made this dress 4 times and made 1 a tissue fitting. The dress is easy to make. The problem is trying to fit the bust chest area. A large fit my body good but I had to figure out how to make the bust chest area smaller. I agree with some of the other reviews on a lack of information with the direction and pattern.

All the pieces fit so well together when I printed A4, the only issue i had was with the sewing instructions, for me personally it wasn’t clear enough, and I got a bit confused when it came to the front and back pieces and lining …. But overall it was a great pattern.

Great pattern! Super easy to make, and the video tutorial was a huge help. The only slightly difficult aspect was the invisible zipper. Maybe would add some darts in next time I sew it. Overall very happy! Design looks just like the image and the shop had lovely customer service.

A really beautiful dress. I added pockets and didn't use the zip. It was still big enough to out over your head without the zip. The instructions are not that clear however. You need to have an idea of sewing but otherwise really happy with how it turned out.

This is a very beginner friendly dress! It was my first ever dress, and was pretty simple to follow. I watched the YouTube video as I went along and it helped a lot! Would recommend!!!!

A bit of a strange fit, I had to rework it quite a bit for it to actually fit properly. However, it was quite easy to get it to fit so I will definitely use the pattern again.

Needed some adjustments to the pattern but now it fits perfect! An easy and quick but chique dress is the outcome!

The dress came out really well. I added a string belt in the fabric to sinch in the waist.

This was an easy pattern with detailed instructions. I modified it to be a top rather than a dress, and added a ruffle. Super cute!
