Shirred Tie-Front Dress Sewing Pattern reviews

The instructions were very easy as definitely beginner friendly as this is only my second dress I’ve made. I did have to shorten the elastic in the back as I have a smaller waist than bust but otherwise sizing is correct.

This was a very easy, lovely pattern. I had to adjust the sides of the bust piece up and I made the waist piece a little longer just for preference. I used a delicate satin. If you are like me and have zero boobs it does fit a little funny in the bust and sits a bit looser than I would like for non flashing comfort even with the straps. But as long as you are okay with it being a bit looser its beautiful and the modifications I made where's anything that I haven't also had to make with a lot of other patterns. Overall 5/5 excited to try more patterns from this company. I also made the dress for my friend and added in a elastic casing piece just under the middle tie for her comfort and it looked great and was also very easy to do.

The pattern worked pretty well and the dress came out nice except for the cups, as noted by other users, so I had to make a few adjustments. The instructions and video were helpful but for true beginners, I think they would be hard to follow. It should also be noted that many of the dresses modeled are dresses from companies like Reformation, etc. I do appreciate that she was able to create these patterns to mimic these dresses, but I think it should be stated. Seller responsive quickly to my question about the pattern after purchasing

Definitely recommend a toile to get the bust fit right. I had a feeling based on the pattern pieces that the bust would be odd. I made a toile but got a bit lazy with how I pieced it together but concluded I’d need to size down. On my final garment, the bust was still awkward on the sides (tons of excess fabric) yet in the center felt like I was one move away from a wardrobe malfunction. I set the dress aside for a few days before coming up with the idea that cinching the bodice on either side might remedy this situation. I ended up making two bows to cinch it in and it solved my dilemma! I would still recommend this dress but just know that there could be some kinks to work out for the fitting. Once worked out, I received tons of compliments.

Pretty easy dress to make. The only thing is that you will need to make a toile so you can adjust the top to your size.

It was fairly easy to follow the pattern as an intermediate sewer. I had to add a few additional ties on the bust to get it to fit correctly using the 3XL pattern - would be nice to have a better fitting bust pattern for the larger sizes. I also added pockets.

It's a very pretty dress and it turned out nicely. I did have to make quite a bit of changes to the bodice. I shortened the length of the front triangles and width. Some bust darts may be necessary based on the size you make.

I really like the pattern, but the cups need significant adjustments because they are too broad and formless. I spent a lot of time adusting them. Otherwise, the pattern is easy to follow. The video is great and I did not experience any issues with the PDF document.

Ce patron est incroyable! Il est assez facile à coudre mais convient à minima aux débutants avancés. C’est ma nouvelle robe préférée! Les instructions sont claires et les mesures convenaient bien à ma morphologie. J’ai seulement fait un petit ajustement au niveau de la poitrine pour être plus à l’aise.

editing review to say seller reached out to me with corrected pattern. all good. haven’t sewn it yet but this pattern is nearly impossible to cut out if you don’t have a pdf reader that can separate layers. all the colors run together and there is no line for medium, the purple large line is duplicated which makes things even more confusing.
